This beautiful but small art house on the upper floors of a Coconut Grove office building was a short-lived experiment opening on May 29, 1987 with “Hombre Mirando Al Sudeste”. It was originally opened by Nat Chediak to compliment his successful Arcadia and Cinematheque theatres in Coral Gables. It was closed in 1989
Within a few years Coconut Grove would have 26 screens.

I had no idea there was a cinema at this location until the Women’s International Film Festival used it as a venue one time in maybe 2007 or 2008.
Up the stairs of the open air building then to the left there was a nondescript door that led to a small rectangular theater with black walls.
The projectionist for the festival for this venue was also the projectionist for the Bill Cosford Cinema. If I remember correctly he told me he had been the projectionist back when the Grove Harbour was open for business (and seemed surprised he got to project at this location again).
I walked by on December 27th, 2015 and from the sidewalk through the foldable fence could still see a sign saying “Theater Teatro” that had been there in 07/08.
It’s across the street from Mr. Moe’s bar/restaurant.
The Grove Harbour cinema opened on May 29th, 1987 with “Hombre Mirando Al Sudeste”. 1st ad posted. Correction: It was at 3138 Commodore Plaza. not 2138.

I wish there were photos from when it operated as the Grove Harbour.
This article from the Abandoned Florida website says it was used for theater classes by the Academy of Arts & Minds school when it occupied the property, which has been abandoned since it closed in 2018:

The Mr. Moe’s bar/restaurant that I had mentioned as being across the street is also closed.
