Built on the site of the old General Motors plant site in Van Nuys, which was leveled for a large mall/shopping center complex in the 1990’s. The Mann Plant 16 Theatres opened January 15, 1999. Operated by Mann Theatres until June 2011, when Regency Theatres took over.

That puts Mann down to four theatres nows.
Soon to be 1. I heard they’re shutting down both Glendale locations this year.
Most of Regency’s chain is made up of previous Mann theatres. I bet they will take over Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village also.
It is sad going to the Mann site these days. They have the Chinese dragon emblem with thier logo, they have a friends us link for Facebook, and they are down to 4 complexes. Honestly, how much longer will they last?

It does make me sad. I grew up seeing films at Mann theatres, my first job was at the Village. AMC did not exist anywhere nearby until the late 1980’s.
did regency keep on all of the staff, and management or replace them? I hope they atleast kept them all on.
