Colonial Theatre 1919

Opened as the Colonial Theatre in 1910, it was one of Canada’s earliest theaters purpose-built to show silent films exclusively. It was renovated in 1919 using stonework from a demolished Customs House on its facade. It closed in 1933, re-opening as The Bay Theatre in 1949 or 1950.

It closed in 1965; an office tower stands on the site.

How I would have loved to have been old enough to have been in that cinema.
