This was the first of two theaters called the Brushton in the Homewood/Brushton section of Pittsburgh. The address when it was known as Brushton Photoplay, circa 1913-16, was 409 Brushton Avenue. The Brushton/New Brushton, at 413 Brushton Avenue, opened April 4, 1917, and closed in 1921.
Another Brushton Theater was open from 1923-50 at 715 Brushton Avenue. Unless there’s an error in the addresses involved, this could not have been the same theater structure because it was apparently three blocks from the other.
