Situated in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, this early cinema took its name from nearby Washington Avenue. Like many other small late-run houses, the Washington Theatre failed to survive the simultaneous arrivals of sound movies and the Great Depression. More information is needed about its history and the current status of the site. The address itself is presently used by a rehab center.

The building that is on the site is currently used as stores. It appears to be an older building, but I don’t know for sure. 474 and 476 Myrtle are combined to one building property, and is the 4 and 5th building to the right of Hall St in this photo. Please note that I spun the map, so south is on the top. It appears all the buildings are older tenemant style buildings, so it’s higly likely that if the theater closed in the 30’s, this is the same building that housed the theater:

I don’t believe the building still exists.
