Located in The Entrance, a small Central Coast town north of Sydney midway to the city of Newcastle. The Prince Edward Theatre opened on 13th April 1934 with 831 seats. It was immediate success as the other cinema in The Entrance, the Wintergarden Theatre had been burnt out earlier that year. The Prince Edward Theatre closed in 1977, but was reopened in 1981 as a smaller theatre, re-named The Entrance Cinema.
A second screen was added in 1988. It is currently operated by Majestic Cinemas and is the first cinema on the Central Coast to be equipped with Digital Projection. It was closed on 18th April 2021 due to a change of the ownership of the building.

I remember when it reopened in ‘81. I was 16 and had been there when I was younger, before it closed. Quite exciting because we had to travel from Budgewoi.
I was working in the ANZ bank as a trainee teller and the new owner banked with us. The new owner must have been extremely inexperienced because the day after opening night he brought in the takings. Unlike other business owners with the money all bundled and counted, he just through a calico bag of notes and coins at me. And wasn’t happy when I said he would need to organize it before I would take the deposit.
