On May 23, 1983, there was no major public corporate corporate sale or merger transaction recorded for the Midwestern movie theater chain Kerasotes Theatres (often searched as Kerosotes). However, this date is highly significant in film exhibition history and closely overlaps with major real estate moves involving the company during that period

It closed in 1959 and reopened as Frisina Cinema 1 & 2 on November 10th, 1978.

Typo in the description/name history – the correct spelling is ‘Frisina’. For a picture from the early ‘70s, when it was still a store, go to: http://gis.hpa.state.il.us/hargis/ and enter 'Frisina Building’ in the search bar. At least there’s a good excuse for the current entry, since the store destroyed the old one.

AMC closed the Cinema on July 28th, 2011. The next day would mark the first day Taylorville has had no movie screen since the mid 1920’s.
