The New Kowloon Cinema Theatre was situated on the Kowloon Bay Reclamation, the site of the former Kai Tak International Airport.
It was built 1926. According to a news report published by the English language Hong Kong Daily Press on 18th June, 1927: “The area of the property is 4,489 square feet, and the annual Crown rental is $17,15. The upset price was $10,000, and after two advances of $500, Mr. Ng Im Chong became the purchaser for $11,000. Various furnishings and fittings of the Cinema were also sold for about $120.”
It showed selected Chinese dialect and English language films until the outbreak of war on 8th December, 1941.
The theatre was reportedly demolished by the Japanese Army for the expansion of the Kai Tak Airport during the war years.
