This opened on December 8th, 2006. Grand opening ad in the photo section.

This is a good theater as I commented on above but the IMAX is FAKE. It is merely IMAX technology, not a true IMAX screen. In truth, the screen is SMALLER than the Ultrascreen their competitor Marcus has in Oakdale. Go to the Great Clips IMAX Theater for real IMAX.

Good News! AMC has opened IMAX here in Rosedale.
However AMC is keeping a low profile here since they stopped running adverts in the Minneapolis / St Paul papers.

I enjoy seeing movies here now. They have a special 5 dollar price Mondays-Thursdays and weekends before 4 PM. That’s not so bad. Plus their large popcorn comes in a bag so its easy to sneak a bag back in a couple times.

In addition to replacing the AMC-operate Har-Mar 11, the Rosedale 14 also replaced the Pavilion at the Crossroads for movie theaters in the area. I’m not too shaken up about the Pavilion; it had a discount theater feel with first-run prices.

Also, now that the Roseville 4 is out of business, the AMC 14 is now (unfortunately) the only place to see a movie nearby.

This theater doesn’t have nearly the atmosphere as Har-Mar, the theater it replaced. It is nice but nothing special, just another cookie cutter theater.

This movie theater was remodeled sometime after it opened. They added a brand new glass front to the movie theater so that the ticket booths are now enclosed in a giant heated lobby. I think that it actually improved the look of the theater and it still has large windows to let in light. Now patrons do not need to wait outside in the snow to purchase tickets. The new AMC Castleton 14 that recently opened in Indianapolis also has an identical enclosed glass lobby for the ticket booths.
