Originally opened in 1934 as the Majestic Theatre, it was re-named Collins Theatre in 1948.
It closed in 1952 and has been converted into office space.

Couldn’t have been that far from the old Joliet prison..
Lived next to this theater from 1945 to 1953. Have any questions just ask. It was just about ½ mile from old Joliet Prison.
ronmartis, is the photo above the correct building?
I believe it is the correct building. One correction. The theatre did not close in 1952. A better estimate would be 1962. Definitely 1960s.
