Built in 1912, the Empire Theatre served as a vaudeville theatre, opera house and movie theatre at different times. But it is remembered most for burlesque. It operated as a burlesque from the 1930’s until February 14, 1957, when the city shut it down for good.
A year later the building was razed for a parking lot. Today a bank sits on the site.

The info you have posted I believe is for the Miners Empire Theatre that was on Washington St but on the South side of Market St and on the opposite side of the street (West Side). The Empire Theatre posted was demolished to make way for the Bamberger’s addition.
I think this confuses two distinct theatres
