I’m so sad to see that our favorite drive in has been closed for apparently a long time!! When we were first married and stationed at Ft Knox in the late 90s, we enjoyed going go the Knox Drive In all the time! It was such a nice, well kept place!! The nicest drive in we’ve ever been to!! So sad!!
It could be reopened with a new screen tower and projection equipment
Has it been demolished?
The concession building and ramps are still there but I’m not sure what state the concession building is in.
Does anyone know if this drive-in had the same style marquee as the Skyline drive-in, or did the Skyline folks buy this sign and refurbish it for their theater?
Opened September 1950, closed in 2002.
It appears that the screen was torn down shortly after the drive-in closed in 2002. The screen does not appear in a 2004 aerial photo.
A fence that existed near the roadside between the entrance and exit roads and light poles that lined the entrance were also removed sometime after 2008. They were gone by 2013.
The concession stand is overgrown with trees on the outside and possibly the inside.
