Loews Southpoint 5 was opened on June 4, 1982. This theatre was closed in late-2004. In the Summer of 2010, the building remains intact and shuttered, with posters from a couple of the final movies screened still displayed in their frames; “Ladder 49” and “Shark Tale”.

this theater was one of a few that were opened by loews some 25 years ago.
I remember working here as an usher, wonder where the other crew members are now.
The last movie I saw here was Twister

I am skeptical that this closed as a Loews Cineplex location. Photos I took of the theatre closed in 2010 showed that it was serving Pepsi and I don’t recall Loews ever having made the switch from Coke to Pepsi.

Ads for this cinema became very spotty after 2000 in the chronicle.
This location is sitting completely out of sight and still standing. Shockingly as of August 2, 2026, the building and everything still inside it is still fully intact.
