The Market Arcade 8 opened by General Cinema Theatres on December 18, 1987. On July 16, 1999 it was taken over by City Cinemas it was renamed Angelika Film Center. On June 2, 2000 it was taken over by the Dipson Circuit and renamed Market Arcade. In 2013, it was the last operating movie theatre in downtown Buffalo. It was closed by the Dipson Circuit in June 2014.
Following a refurbishment it was reopened by AMC on August 16, 2018. Seating capacities range from 126 down to 46.
