June 15th, 2001 grand opening ad in the photo section.
The status of the theater should be open. I checked the website and it is shown on the list with show times.
Uploaded 3 photos.
Reopens as the 16-screen Marcus Country Club Hills Cinema on October 13, 2016 with “The Accountant” and “Kevin Hart’s What Now?” The theatre was equipped with Dream Lounger seating and Dolby Atmos audio. Two auditoriums were designated as the Marcus SuperScreen DLX with another the Marcus UltraScree DLX.
JudithK. That’s good. Because I’m afraid that the city would tear it down while the building is probably in fair to nice condition. But I’m glad that another movie theater chain is showing interest to the property and reopen it to residents.
Purchased by Marcus Cinemas. I was at the AMC last summer seeing the film “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” on a Sunday afternoon. Some re-investment in the property should be forthcoming I am sure. Excellent location which should make it once it re-opens.
I am shocked to just find out about the closing of the theater. The last time I went to AMC Loews 16 was like 3 or 4 years ago, when I saw the first Avengers movie. I didn’t expect it to go.
the linked article says AMC didn’t reach terms with the landlord so unless some other theater company does so, then it won’t reopen ever.
How long this movie theater close down for?
Status should be changed to Closed. Last day of business was January 10th according to the below piece.

Love this theater, safe & clean. I hope they continue to keep it that way.
Nice photo Lost Memory.
CinemarkFan. Would love to talk to you sometime….you seem to know alot about the movie and theater biz that I’d like to know.
My email is in my profile…
It actually opened June 15th 2001. “Tomb Raider”, “Swordfish”, “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”, and “Shrek” were among the first films to play here. It looks just like other Loews Theatres like Crestwood, but this theater does have auditorium 15, which seats 676 and has a screen that’s over 60ft wide or more. #15 would be ideal for a 70MM retrofit.
