I don’t have my camera with me. You’ll have to trust me on this one.
The Desert 5 drive-in was open well before the ‘80s… My friends and I went there during high school – I graduated in 1976. :–)
And yep, the Skyway shrunk in capacity as the years went by. They took out the speakers in the rear of the property – leaving just the poles.
Great ad i wonder of all the people to look at that movie ad did they notice “THE CYCLE SAVAGES” rated R with Melody Patterson? hey, wasn’t she that sweet young lady on the TV show “F-TROOP” Melody, i am shocked!
So that’s what happened to this theater. Well, I’ll be…

Yes Mike Rogers, Melody Patterson was in the tv series'F Troop(she played Wrangler Jane).
Update credit Richard Stegman Jr. “The Private Eyes” and “Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (And Don’t Come Back!)” was the very last double feature to play at the Skyway Drive in in Las Vegas in 1980. It closed in January 1981. The lot sat empty until 1993 to make way for the construction of the Boulder Station H/C.
I have not yet figured out what it’s final single feature was in January `81.
No movies, single or double, played there after early January 1981. I know this because it was on my school bus route from Henderson to Variety School For The Handicapped until my family went back to California in September 1981. Both the screen and marquee remained but deteriorated pretty quickly.
