I believe this theatre is now closed as their phone number no longer works and I cannot find listings for them.

That status of this theatre sadly should be changed to CLOSED! I go up to the area every summer. In 2005 I saw Dark Water there.I was talking to th owner and she said they were having a tough time bringing in business. 2005 was a off year for the movies as many of you remember.

They did not re-open for 2006-or 2007.This is very upsetting as it was a very nice place to see a movie. The Lake Theatre in Indian lake NY also did not open for the 2006 and 2007 summer season.

Former Adirondack Theatre in Speculator. Opened in 1914 by legendary guide and innkeeper Isiah Perkins to show silent movies. His hunting lodge was located 7 miles north of Speculator in what is now known as Perkins Clearing. The last movie was shown at the theatre in 2005. The marquee out front was taken down soon after 2005. For the past decade it has been someone’s home.
