Built in 1987 by Stanley Pratt as a part of the new Stanley Village Shopping Center in Estes Park. Stan operated the Village Theater for many years in downtown Estes, at the site of the current Village Barber (the marquee is still visible). The current location was operating with state of the art sound (Dolby Digital) and first run film, as well as independents and special events/screenings.
The theater was purchased from the Pratt family in 2002 by the Mark Igel family, who operated the theater independently. Notably, two of three projectors came from the closed Aspen Park Cinema II (Aspen Park/Conifer, Colorado), and the other is from the Village in Estes. It was closed on August 29, 2024.

Announced closure after shows on August 29, 2024.
The Stanley Village 3 had a name change to Reel Mountain Theater under Mark Igel, who sold the business to Craig and Leslie Conley- whom updated to digital projection, who then in 2019 sold to the Park Theater Mall LLC operated by the Stanger Family including Sharon Stanger Seeley and Jenna MacGregor- long time locals who ran the Lake Estes Drive-in and currently run the Historic Park Theatre. Many of the Items from the Reel Mountain Theatre still exist today inside the Historic Park Theatre. The demise of this beautiful cinema house was from Covid and changing Movie going rituals. These cinema houses are such large realestate with big expenses. Head back to your local cinema and make it your family outing! Movies deserve to be enjoyed together on the big screens with great sight and sound.- Jenna MacGregor
