- May 30, 2007 — Twin Hi-Way Drive-In to reopen
Opened June 8, 1950. Located in Robinson Township near the borough of Crafton on an old stretch of the original Lincoln Highway, formerly designated as U.S. 22/U.S. 30, hence the name Twin Hi-Way Drive-In. Closed after 1996 season it was reopened July 3, 2007. A second screen was added in 2009. The Twin Hi-Way Drive-In was closed November 1, 2015.

I was there for the 2008 season. The second drive-in I ever went to. The first was the Colonial Drive-in but that is a sad dead place. The people there where nice and have a great selection and price for the concession. $6.50 for double feature and they also did triple on the weekends. Can’t wait to go back.
I drove past the Twin-Hi Way this morning and saw that the second screen is now in place.

I am so glad this drive-in reopened. We always go out a couple times a year. My kids really love it. Last year we went out on the night that Kennedy Township was shooting off July 4th fireworks. We watched the movie and saw fireworks above the screen. What a double feature!
There are some dark clouds starting to brew overhead here. Sheetz is apparently looking to wipe out another drive-in (and a piece of American culture) by building on the Twin Hi-Way Drive-In site…which makes absolutely no sense since there’s already a Sheetz down the road from the drive-in.

Uh-oh. The letters on the marquee have been removed and the site fenced off.
The original big screen tower was torn down yesterday (1/17). The snack bar and second screen are still standing at this point.
