This was a three-screen theater which opened December 14, 1977 in the same design as the Montclair GCC.
Located on the southeast corner of Victory Boulevard and Owensmouth Avenue (behind what was a Soup Exchange in the early-1990’s), it was a first run theater for the longest time, but was eventually downgraded to second-run movies by the late-1980’s under pressure of competition from theaters like Pacific’s Topanga, U/A’s Warner Center (both a block over, in different directions), and the GCC Fallbrook one mile away in West Hills. For a few years, this venue was also home to Friday and Saturday night casts that performed “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”.
In early-November 1991, this theater was closed down then fenced-off for roughly four months. In March 1992, it was torn down so that a new, modern building could be erected in its place. As of 2006, said building is split between a Men’s Warehouse and CompUSA.
