Went by today, and almost the entire block has been demolished. Happened last Summer. Will post a couple of pics soon.
I didn’t know that it was an atomospheric. lol
Wow. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
So what was torn down? Is that the actual theatre site between the other two buildings?
That tree looks way older than “Summer of 2008”.
There was a string of 6-7 buildings sharing a common walls, like you see in a strip center. The Texas was the 3rd building from the left. All but the first 2 are now gone. Nearly all the roofs were caved in, and they bulldozed the Texas and everything to the right. So one wall still exists.
Yes, the Texas was situated between the buildings, the roof was long, long gone. Guessing from the trees, maybe 25 to 35 years ago or more?
On the 3rd photo, the facade, and everything from the left side wall, all the way down the block is gone. The wall in the 2nd photo is gone…
Exterior view of the Texas theatre Jan 2003. Note building to the left.

Exterior of the other buildings in the strip center. Most have no or little roofs left inside.
