The Dreamland Drive-In was opened April 22, 1948. It was still open in 1980. Will miss this drive-in, one of the last in North Carolina. Operated as the Dreamland Flea Market before being torn down and replaced with retail stores.

Jan 6 1980 Now playing at the DREAMLAND “THE CHAMP” and “CANNONBALL"Plus "GRAND THEFT AUTO”.
Dec. 30 1979 has"FIREPOWER" and “THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY” playing plus a third hit the “MODELS”
STAR WARS played here at the Dreamland Drive-In as one of the many re-releases on July 21,1978 that brought in capacity crowds….STAR WARS played here for several weeks before it ended its run on September 7,1978.
Lowes and Walgreens sits on the site of this former drive-in theater.

Boxoffice, June 25, 1955: “Paul Pless of the Dreamland Drive-In, Asheville, N. C., has an amusement park with miniature golf and other attractions, including a concession stand, open in front of the theatre all day.”
