The Bacon Theatre was opened on June 8, 1949 with Jack Carson in “My Dream is Yours” & Bing Crosby in “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court”. In the mid-1960’s it was renamed Village Theatre and from the late-1960’s it was operating as the Woodford Theatre. It was closed on November 15, 1971 with Walter Mattheau in “A New Leaf”.
It was put up ‘For Sale’ in 1975. It is an old theater in desperate need of renovating. An eyesore in an otherwise nice downtown area. Since at least 2022 it has been renovavated and operates as a Spanish Church
