The Cinema Lounge Showcase appeared in the midtown area around 1970 as a first run venue. This was around the time that other theatres in the area such as the Fox, Coronet and Atlanta, were shutting down. The Cinema Lounge didn’t have any advantage in attracting patrons and was shuttered by 1975.
