The Highland

The 700-seat High Theatre was opened September 30, 1948 with Lois Butler in “Mickey”. It was operated by Wilby-Kincey. It was closed in 1956. Since that time, the property has been used as a church and roller skating rink, among others. The building housed a security door business, but was vacant by 2018.

Address should be 1601 Highland Avenue. And it’s currently for sale.

Looks abandoned by the last time the Googlemobile passed it by. It opened on September 30th, 1948 and closed in 1956. Grand opening ad in the photo section.

The “security door” business looks to be closed, building appears abandoned.
