This section of Pocatello was in independent city called Alameda at the time the Crest Theatre opened. It was consolidated with Pocatello in 1962. References to this theater from before that year will probably be found under the city name Alameda.

The June, 1954, bulletin of the IATSE, district 1, said that the Crest Theatre had just installed CinemaScope, inaugurating its new screen with “Knights of the Round Table.”

Great Name for a theatre.

The Pocatello Reel Theatre, which is now independently owned, was originally the Crest Theatre.

A very nice plush art moderne single house that contained almost 700 seats until the split in the late 80’s by then, their parent company RWD Associates, to turn it into a twin screen, discount run location.

NAME CHANGE: THE REEL THEATRE (all 3 words in neon) is above the marquee. Each theatre has exactly 200 seats.
