The Crest Theatre was opened on August 31, 1949 with Doris Day in “My Dream Is Yours”. It was a single screen theatre with 600-seats.

NAME CHANGE: THE REEL THEATRE (all 3 words in neon) is above the marquee. Each theatre has exactly 200 seats.
The Pocatello Reel Theatre, which is now independently owned, was originally the Crest Theatre.
A very nice plush art moderne single house that contained almost 700 seats until the split in the late 80’s by then, their parent company RWD Associates, to turn it into a twin screen, discount run location.
Great Name for a theatre.
The June, 1954, bulletin of the IATSE, district 1, said that the Crest Theatre had just installed CinemaScope, inaugurating its new screen with “Knights of the Round Table.”
This section of Pocatello was in independent city called Alameda at the time the Crest Theatre opened. It was consolidated with Pocatello in 1962. References to this theater from before that year will probably be found under the city name Alameda.
