Music Hall

:Next to the station, a hay storage facility was first converted into a small entertainment hall, which was twice replaced. The town finally gained a building worthy of the name Music Hall, which still stands: a large tall brick gable-fronted structure, whose original appearance unfortunately has been marred by changes after its original use ended. The Music Hall presented circuses, plays, choral societies, light musicals, dramas, benefit programs, local talents, and eventually, silent and talking movies."

Most likely stopped showing movies when the Clinton Point Theatre opened in the 1930s/early 1940s. This building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Today it houses some professional offices and is known as Clinton Center.

This theatre is also on Gene Chesley’s “National List of Historic Theatre Buildings”, which includes the names and locations of theatres for which information had been gathered as of 1979, with some additions made through 1989.

Actor Lee Van Cleef got his acting start at this theater. It had been converted into offices for many years; however, the large interior space and the stage proscenium were incorporated into the office renovation/conversion. A 3-alarm fire several days ago (May, 2016) appeared to have destroyed most of the interior. The brick walls remained standing.
