This theater was in the Coon Rapids Family Center Mall located on Coon Rapids Boulevard and Crooked Lake Boulevard in Coon Rapids, MN. It was most likely named the Owl Theater because of the Red Owl grocery store that was also in that mall. It was opened in July 1973. In early-1976 it was renamed Rapids Cinema. These days, it is home to an indoor amusement park called Grand Slam. The theater was short-lived, closing in the late-1970’s and most likely forgotten, but if not, feel free to post comments.

In the late ‘70s, the name of this theater was changed to RAPIDS CINEMA.
I just came across an advert for the Owl. Yes, it had a picture of an Owl. The date was 1 Dec 1973 and the advert stated that it was Coon Rapids newest theatre.
Yep, It Changed Its Name To The “Rapids Cinema” In Early 1976.
Boxoffice of August 6, 1973 noted the recent opening of the 224-seat Owl Theatre in the Red Owl Family Shopping Center at Coon Rapids. The February 11, 1974 issue of Boxoffice said that [t]he Owl Theatre… has closed indefinitely, due to a lack of business."
