The Tryon Theatre was closed on December 20, 1958 at end of lease with a fine bill consisting of two shorts – a color cartoon and the Three Stooges in “Outer Space Jitters” – and two features: “Legend of the Lost” and “Horror of Dracula.”
This opened on January 17th, 1938.

It didn’t just show 2nd run features. It also showed striptease flicks. Eww! Shame, shame.
Pity Charlotte didn’t have enough sense to save some theatres, guess they were trying to play catch up with ATL, Hey, Atl saved a Couple of Theatres Downtown.
