Opened in 1910, Monrovia’s Mission Theatre was bought by Mr. J.C. Kuert of Los Angeles in 1914. Mr. Keurt expanded the small theatre, adding a balcony with 150 seats and installing a projection booth. The Mission Theatre was still open in 1927.

Unless there was two of them, this LA Times article from 3/12/14 has the Mission sold to A.E. Cornell:
A.E. Cornell, of Postville, Iowa, today closed the deal purchasing the Mission Theater, Monrovia’s largest moving picture house, from Mr. and Mrs. H. Widosky. Mr. Cornell has owned and operated hotels and apartment houses in Iowa and Los Angeles for twenty years, but has decided to go into the theater business here and expects to make Monrovia his home.
J.C. Kuert’s purchase of the Mission Theatre was announced in the July 18, 1914, issue of Southwest Contractor & Manufacturer. Looks as though either Mr. Cornell’s purchase fell through, or it didn’t take him long to decide that the theater business was not for him after all.
The 1911, 23, 24, 25 and 1927 directories list the address as 127 E. Olive.
