Boxoffice, Sept. 9, 1963: “LAMESA, TEX. - Phil Isley Theatres has taken over operation of the Palace Theatre and Yucca Drive-In, effective September 8, on a lease from B. J. Vaugh, businessman and civic leader who purchased the properties from Mrs. Audrey Cox.”
Boxoffice, Feb. 8, 1965: “R. A. "Skeet” Noret and John Watson of the Skyvue Theatre Corp. of Lamesa took over operation of the Palace Theatre and Yucca Drive-In from the Phil Isley Theatres. Audrey Cox of Lamesa owns the buildings."
Was the Yucca a Twin 2001 Lubbock Hwy including the next lot has that basic drive-in theater shape. It very close.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 1611 Lubbock Highway.
North Elgin was the rear of the drive-in. Northeast 14th did not exist @ North Elgin when this opened.

The footprint of the drive-in is visible on Google Earth using imagery from 1991. Current imagery shows the site being used as a baseball field.

To correct my earlier post, it was not the Garrick Theatre but Chicago’s Iroquois Theatre that burned while the Foy’s were performing in the early 1900’s.
This drive-in was still listed in the 1967 IMPA.
Ironic that there is a fireworks ad underneath Yucca’s “The Seven Little Foys” promo. The Foy’s are who were performing at Chicago’s Garrick Theatre when it burned killing many who were trapped.
