Yes this theatre opens soon and people of Tennessee may began to get confused by which company they are visiting. As Phoenix Theatres is entering Tennessee for the first time by opening Phoenix Theatres Governor’s Square Mall Cinemas (former AMC) on May 23,2025. This is Phoenix Theaters Atoka Cinemas owned by a different Phoenix Theatres. Two competing chains with the same name. Atoka Phoenix Theatres is owned by Phoenix Theatres Entertainment from Knoxville. They operate many locations across the US and in Tennessee. The other Phoenix Theatres, who own numerous locations, are based out of Michigan. They operate 9 theatres in 4 states and look to expand in Tennessee. Gifts cards, complaints etc. can be tricky with two different theatre chains have the exact name. This has been the case in Pennsylvania where both Phoenix Theatres also have a locations.
