The Tower theatre opened on October 27th, 1937. Grand opening ad posted.
Motion Picture Herald, Jan. 19, 1952: “The Tower, a neighborhood theatre in Tulsa, Okla., has reopened, according to Bernard J. McKenna, Jr., who also operates the Gem and Royal theatres. The theatre, operated the past few years by the Griffith theatres, has been closed for about two months. A brother, Jimmy McKenna, will be manager of the Tower.”

Great looking Picture.
The lot where the Tower Theatre stood has been a parking lot for over thirty three years now, but it looks as if construction has now begun on a new project

Architect W. Scott Dunne designed the Tower Theater.
Those 40s photos show what little interior decoration the Tower Theatre had. Exterior styling was simple Spanish Colonial, while the interior was done up in Southwestern Moderne. Love that standee carpet pattern, bet it was colorful!

TOWER Theater opened 1930, and near the end of the 1960s was an off and on operation until it closed completely. Structure sat empty many years and finally was razed 1977.
The Tower Theater was operated at one point by Griffith Consolidated and showed art/foreign language films.
