I know you weren’t.I just wish some of the articles in my old Boxoffices were right.I guess in their defense they never realized folks even be caring about it in the year 2011.Lol.
The article from Boxoffice says that the College Park was to be the second theatre in Indianapolis to be able to show “70mm films in Dolby Stereo sound”. (March 1985, pg. 109) So, there certainly could be other 70mm locations, but only one other with 70mm Dolby.
And you do have to be VERY careful with Boxoffice entries, as 2 pages before this they indicate that the Capitol South (Later, City Center) mall in Columbus OH was to have a number of cinema screens, but none were ever put in there.
thanks Mark.
This theater is going to be reopened by a Florida resident as an independent and be renamed the Movie Buff with a mixed menu of film offerings: View link
I’ve been to Movie Buff a few times this year and the experience was decent. The picture and sound quality of the movies is mediocre as compared to newer theaters. The concession stands, the restrooms, and the interior decor have not been upgraded a bit in 20 years and the age is apparent. The ticket and concession prices are lower than the newer theaters and I think it’s a good deal.
Movie Buff Theater was shut down. The facility then received a multimillion dollar renovation and reopened as Studio Movie Grill. The renovation included all new audio and digital projeciton systems and a full bar in the lobby. In addition the theater has a full menu of drinks, appetizers, drinks, and entrees.
Now open as Studio Movie Grill.
