As of the mid-1950s, the Savoy Theatre originally housed 1,290 seats according to several Canadian Motion Picture Yearbooks in the 1950s and 1960s. It also said that Glace Bay also had a Capitol Theatre, also operated by Famous Players, and a Russell Theatre. I cannot find any information about the two, rather than the yearbooks listing the Capitol as “larger than the Savoy”.

John Connors and later his wife, were the owners of this theatre while the business was operated jointly with this family and the Famous Players Canadian Corporation.

Here is a picture of its interior: View link which does appear to be a restoration of the original 1927 interior (which cannot be said of its current exterior facade).
