I drive by the old Center Theater every morning. I would love a tour of the place. I’ll go bay and take some pictures.

I did not know it at the time, but I attended the Center on the last night of operation, a Thursday in early August, 1967. This memory is 53 years old, but the last movie was either “The Maltese Bippy” with Rowan and Martin, or “The Appaloosa” with Marlon Brando. (The last two movies I saw there) Admission was 75 cents, while the Martin, Lyric, and Alabama charged $1.00. The Center closed because Martin had opened the new Westbury Cinerama. The building still stands as of 5/21.
