The Princess Theatre was Huntsville’s leading African American theater. It was operated by the Heffleman family and was the successor to the silent era Picto Theatre on Jefferson Street. C.L. Heffleman died in 1952 but son, Jack, ran the operation. On June 5, 1954, the theatre installed widescreen projection to show CinemaScope films. Appears to have ended operations August 30, 1963.
