Last time I was in New Paltz the Academy was a restaurant/bar.
When I went to SUNY New Paltz in the late 1960’s, the Academy Theater was above Barnaby’s Pub and played The King of Hearts almost nightly. Great movie.
Now a church. This is a very old building, and the original entrance was off Academy St.
Hey when I was a teenager my dad directed a play in New Paltz. It was in a theater that must have been a movie theater because the walls had been wallpapered with old movie posters. Was that the Academy?
