Opened in 1917 for J. Frederick Wuerth near his earlier Orpheum Theater, the Wuerth Theater was leased to Butterfield Theaters just a few years later. By 1950, the theater began to be open on a part-time basis, closing entirely in 1957.
Until the mid-1960’s, the auditorium was used as a storage space, when the building was taken over by the retail store next door. Today, the former Wuerth Theater is used as a restaurant.

Film Daily Yearbook’s in the 1940’s show that the Wuerth Theater was operated by Paramount Pictures Inc. through their subsidiary W.S. Butterfield Theaters Inc and Butterfield Michigan Theaters Co.
This is the current occupant. The menu looks a little pricey.
