Named after McLennan County, Texas, where the town of McGregor is located. The McLennan Drive-In opened on April 1, 1953 with Virginia Mayo in “She’s Back on Broadway”. It was operated by O.T. McGinley and Henry Smith. This single screen drive-in was located on Highway 317 and had a capacity for 300 cars. It was closed around 1956. Its short life was due to the introduction of television.

This drive-in was located on Hwy 317 (which is also S. Main St.) just south of McGregor. As you are driving south, the drive-in was on the left side of Hwy 317, about ¼ mile past County Road 445.
