This is also the first theater to operate in Elizabeth since the 1996 closure of the Liberty Theatre.

The IMAX screen now has AMC signature recliners. Typical reduction in capacity, somewhere in low 200s and previously several hundred seats

Holy crap they were UNprepared for Avengers this weekend imo. Lines out the door. One old lady with one scanner marking tickets. 2-3 food registers open that took 5 min or longer each. JESUS this theater needs some help. I LEGIT saw in the mens room a toilet with a rag stuffed down it to make it overflow, on Friday at 5pm. Like WTF. gross.

Popcorn cold. Food that takes a while too to cook and get because the workers just don’t give a f. PLEASE AMC help this theater. I know this weekend was an exceptionally bad one but this is just bad overall imo.

OH. And the ticket woman kept saying “pull your tickets up” or “send them to your friend to get in” but the theater has ZERO CELL SERVICE. IDK how but it’s a complete dead zone when you get in. I kept trying to get my rewards open for my cold popcorn but i gave up and just paid full price. zero cell service here

Probably the BEST Dolby Cinema I’ve been to and I’ve tried a few. They’ve completely fixed every issue I think other Dolby’s have. This is my new favorite one. Has anyone else tried it yet?

During the Black Friday shooting at the mall this building was used as a shelter for the evacuees before it closed until the day after it happened.

Earlier today inside the mall there was a robbery at a jewelry store according to 1010 WINS. The mall was evacuated but everybody came in safely.

I hope they do not remodel the David Rockwell designed lobby to the current AMC look, with it’s red circle lights, circle carpeting etc. Loews always had a very nice lobby design from the mid nineties on, but I always felt like they skimped out on the actual auditoriums themselves, that definitely could use some new seating, carpeting, wall curtains, side light fixtures. Also maybe they could also put a AMC MacGuffins bar where the Loews Club was originally supposed to be on the Upper Mezzanine Level.

this theater needs a remodel, badly. With every other local big theater getting something new, it’s strange this one is looked over.

I think with AMC’s expansion of Dolby, this could be a future dolby cinema theater. It’s got imax. Rockaway and Clifton are also other contendors imo.

Wouldn’t mind newer seats though like they got in amc west orange with leather reclining but I’m dreaming :P

I hope so. This complex recently became the Mills at Jersey Gardens under new ownership by Simon Property Group.

Went here with my wife last night to see “What If”. (Dont bother, it stunk} But the expeirience was nice. I hope AMC doesnt remodel this one and leaves the black maskings on the screens, something they just got done removing in the mountainside remodel.
