Mel Brooks at the Granada November 9, 1977.

Description via Tim O'Neill. “Happy 95th Birthday, Mel Brooks. Here is a photo of Mel at the long-gone Granada Theatre in Chicago. November 9, 1977. The Chicago International Film Festival presented a tribute to Mel with clips from his movies shown on the giant screen, and then a Q&A on stage, hosted by Roger Ebert. This was the one and only time I went to the Granada Theatre. It was a night to remember. My favorite moment: Mel introduces a clip from his new movie, HIGH ANXIETY, which was going to open on the coasts the following month, and then nationwide in February 1978. Mel tells the audience it will be the scene where he sings the song, "High Anxiety”. Mel stands on the stage, waiting for the clip to play on screen. He waits…..and waits. Nothing on screen. Mel stands on the stage, looks up towards the upper balcony projection booth, and says into the microphone….“It’s the projector you turn on”. Just classic Mel….always quick."
