Later, the Harte Theatre, just north of the old firehouse. The New Theatre, located at 40 John Street, was built in 1913. It was a very modern building made of concrete and steel. The auditorium had a seating capacity of 1050. It had well appointed dressing rooms, check rooms, a handsome lobby and a large balcony. It booked vaudeville shows as well as motion pictures. The local community shows also used the stage. John P. Donohue was the first theatrical manager, Mrs. Anna Graney cashier and Richard Perry stage manager.
