RKO Orpheum - 8 Vaudeville Acts - Thursday, July 21, 1949
This playbill documents the first of a series of monthly Vaudeville shows that were presented at the “healthfully air-conditioned” RKO Orpheum Theatre in Davenport. The acts came direct from the New York Palace Theatre and would travel from one RKO theatre to another. The eight acts were followed by a movie, all of which offered the audience a delightful night of entertainment. Bob Hammond’s Birds would appear later on the Ed Sullivan Show and Pat Rooney, Sr. was a Vaudeville legend in dancing. The comedy, “The Judge Steps Out,” starred Ann Southern, Alexander Knox and George Tobias, and was originally released in 1947.
