The Premier cinema opened on Monday 17th January 1921 with the silent film ‘Wolves of the Night’. Sound arrived in April 1930. The first talkie ‘Sunny Side Up’ was shown on Monday 26th May 1930. The last film was shown on Thursday 19th April 1961. After came Premier Bingo. Bingo lasted until January 1985 when the Premier closed and demolition followed shortly after.
