Gaumont Palace Coventry
This photograph taken shortly before official opening 5th October 1931 and was the second of the four Gaumont Palaces built by the Architectural practice of William Henry Watkins Bristol by their head designer Percy Bartlett. The facade was covered with cream terracotta tiles, the large central two level windows area was recessed with a light green boarder and neon lighting, which also featured under the pair of red chevrons on either side. The top row of windows were for the large cafe area, six pairs of entrance doors beneath the canopy provided entrance into the spacious foyer.
