Ah yes, the true location of the Ridgwood Folly Theatre is untrue. It was a ruse as payback for giving my comrade Eddie a rough time here. I bid you all farewell for now.

I will longer respond to questions from cretins. Be off with you.

Ah, another inept member of the infamous research team has returned. You shall fare much better under my leadership.

The Montauk theatre aka the Crescent theatre later became Minsky’s Burlesque. Any cretin should have known that. Leave the research to people who have the mental capacity to handle it.

Another incompetent amongst us. The location of the Ridgewood Lyric theatre will be revealed shortly.

Your cohorts are inept and looked in the wrong place. Do you infer that the address I have given is false??? That is blasphemy sir and I will not stand for it. Let your cohorts prove otherwise.

Well my friend I do not see a wealth of replies from your acclaimed research team. That would lead me to one conclusion only, you have been replaced by yours truly. Take your place with the other commoners as I lead the team forward. Another clue for your Lyric Theatre would be Menehan street.

The B38 bus followed in the footsteps of the trolley that preceeded it. The route was identical for both trolley and bus.

Payton’s Fulton Street theater was used for vaudeville & burlesque. There were no motion pictures shown in that theatre.

The 1927 FDYB is correct as the United theatre opened for a brief period lasting less than a decade. Your approximation to Navy street is close enough. Building the United theatre proved to be a rather large blunder as the deterioration of the area was already in effect.

Tsk,Tsk, are we having a ‘hissy-fit’ here! I find that your research team is lacking in many ways. Perhaps you should find more informed members for your team. Ah yes, there was a Lyric theatre in Ridgewood. Would you and your researchers like a hint??? Think of a block such as Woodward Avenue. Maybe more hints will follow, maybe not!

I cannot divulge my sources to anyone. Your researching has paid dividends my friend as I have put it all to good use as you can see before you. You and your cohorts would never have unlocked the mystery of this theatre. There are many other theatres about choose another for your ‘pet-project’.

Ah yes I do have an address my good man. I have taken it one step further and submitted the Folly theatre to this fine cinema site. No need to thank me as it was my pleasure. It might have taken you chaps much investigating before finding this theatre. I have saved you much work.

The Evergreene theatre was a fine theatre in its day. The open-aire portion contained benches made of wood. My recollection of this theatre is the open-aire portion was used solely for warm summer evenings and not at all in the wintry months.

I have read many messages here. I noticed a mentioning of the Ridgewood Folly theatre. Indeed it was located on Myrtle avenue not far from Onderdonck avenue. Rumor has it as the first establishment for showing movies.

Ah, the Ridgewood Theatre! This was a very pleasant theatre to attend. Not on a par with the RKO Madison Theatre but still a wonderful theatre in its own right.

Just came upon this site and I must say it is spectacular. I noticed your impressive research area. As a former Ridgewoodite I have a theatre not on your listing and worthy of your excellent research team. Does anyone remember the Lyric Theatre circa 1916 in Ridgewood?
