I want to say this theater opened in 1974-75. Started as a 3 screen theater, later expanded to 5, and eventually to 7. Saw Star Wars there in 1977 with The Incredible Melting Man playing next door. Theater had a long life. Outlasted it’s 3 contemporaries, Harundale, Ritchie, and Glen Burnie Mall, and even the Glen Burnie Towwncenter 7 that opened in 1986. Torn down for LA Fitness.

Was still in operation in 1985 as I went to see Day of the Dead there. Rambo:First Blood Pt 2 was on the second screen. Couldn’t stay to finish the second movie as I was on a provisional license and had to be home at 12. I believe it closed after the 1985 or 1986 season. Was vacant for a few years before being torn down to make room for Rt. 32. Drive-in sat right where the road passes through.

You can see the marquee for the drive-in on the left and the screen behind the Shell sign.

If I remember correctly, it officially closed in 1982 or 1983.

The Marley Station and Glen Burnie Towncenter theaters put Richie Cinemas and Harundale Cinemas out of business as everyone flocked to the fancy new theaters. I remember Richie playing a lot of trash movies in the end like Blood Diner and Meatballs 3.

Theater actually opened in the summer of 1986. Saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 and Maximum Overdrive there shortly after it opened. Opened the summer before my senior year in HS. Marley Station Mall and the theater there opened in the fall of the same year. All of the other info in the previous post is spot on, including the info on the address.

Theater closed in 1984 I believe. Was a $1 theater in 1983-84. Still obvious it was a theater as it is taller than the other part of the mall. Was gutted and became a Walden’s Books and 2 other stores. Later was Famous Footwear. Mall is still open, but like a morgue.

Uploaded a few photos from the 80’s including the marquee from 1980 with The Empire Strikes Back. Saw a ton of movies here in the 70’s and 80’s including The Empire Strikes Back, Airplane, Superman 1+2, Scarface, Back to the Future, Weird Science, and Joysticks, lol. I want to say it closed in 1988 or 89.
