That reminds me of AMC which added bars to many of its locations – even without their Dine-In concept they introduced fairly recently (as in more than 8 years ago). Some new Cinemark locations also have bars.
If Harkins gets this theatre, I might be more disappointed. I like it as simply AMC. I wish the signage still looks like this (like it used to be) instead of “AMC CLASSIC” alongside a modernized Carmike logo:

Also, this could stink in terms of attendance because of paid parking, the fact that the AMC Esplanade 14 Dine-In Theatres (also formerly regular AMC) – as well as some Harkins locations, is only minutes away, and the fact AMC did not remodel this theatre and get recliners in it. I like movie theatres with recliners, but to me, many AMCs that now have recliners seem to be blander than it used to be now that inside they have a common design. Cinemark is also remodeling their theatres in the same vein – even when they get recliners.
Also, in Arizona Carmike was unheard of, with only one theatre in the entire state during its existance. I wonder if that theatre gets that branding as well. I wish this would still be just AMC, like it used to be. Scott Neff can you post a list of the 24-30 screen AMC locations that are closed off? I’m pretty sure many AMC 30s have only 17 screens open, with 13 screens closing sometime after enough of those 30 screens receiving digital projection.
I used to go here when I was a little kid. It’s disappointing to see one of my favorite theatres get the AMC Classic branding. At least it hopefully retains its original look and feel, as I haven’t been there since 2008. If it continues to have low attendance, Harkins might be interested in acquiring this theatre.

The last Carmike to open (it was planned by Carmike, but opened by AMC). Now AMC has four theatres in Greater Cincinnati.
